On pelicanparts, I think the same shop was trying to fit a boxster 3.4 into 914. They had to add fender flares, for the trailing arm rear suspension to be 5 " wider to clear the engine.

This just makes me sad since we’ve been looking for a couple of years for a good air-cooled 3.6L to put into an ACTUAL 911— I’ve got a rust-free roller Carrera (95)... but a good compression engine that’s not ready for a $20K rebuild is basically impossible to find.

so, it’s sad to see one end up in a 914.

Most of the watercoolded conversions, I’ve seen them mount them up front. Though i have seen a couple online where the radiator is practically flat in the rear trunk area.

Renegade always has to hack up the front trunk area on the 911 conversions.
